On the evening of Friday, December 1, Launceston residents filled the town square for another year of festive fun at the town’s light switch-on.
Mayor, Cllr Helen Bailey said: “It was a fabulous evening for our town’s Festival of Light switch-on, thank you to everyone who came along to enjoy the event.
"I know I had a wonderful evening along with the deputy mayor, Cllr Gilbert. Local businesses, the Christmas market and the Christmas Tree Festival along with the array of musical performances on the stage and the parade bringing Father Christmas to the square in his sleigh saw so many smiling faces. Something for everyone to enjoy, despite it being bitterly cold.
"Thank you to all our light sponsors, Thanks also go to Launceston Rotary Club for funding the Angels and the Elf and all the groups, individuals and organisations taking place in the parade.
"The Christmas Committee and staff enjoyed seeing all their hard work come to life and will start planning next year’s event immediately.”
