A LOCAL artist has launched a new art gallery in Port Isaac.
Artist Lorraine Ward was privileged to launch her new art gallery, Lorraine Ward Fine Art, in the idyllic village of Port Isaac.
Lorraine is an artist based on the north coast of Cornwall and gained her degree at St. Martins School of Art, London.
Specialising in original landscape, seascape and abstract paintings, working in oil on canvas her works are created from memory, inspired by nature and the emotions it evokes.
These contemporary works of art are refreshingly individual, created with soft textures and gentle colour transitions, highlighted with dynamic abstract areas.
Lorraine’s work is an expression of her search for a fresh perspective, a connection between soul, mind and surroundings free from the constraints of her own making.
Local business HAUS! have taken the innovative step to space share with Lorraine in order to provide her with the opportunity to showcase her work.
The gallery launch, hosted by HAUS! included the young and talented Matilda and Stan who provided a musical accompaniment to the well attended evening.
The gallery is now open Monday to Friday 9:.0am to 4.30pm and Saturday 9.30am to 2pm.
