Cllr Mike Dawe has been announced as the new Mayor of Bude and Stratton for the upcoming year.

He will be joined by Cllr Philippa Purchase as the new Deputy Mayor. It follows a unanimous vote by fellow councillors at the annual council meeting held on May 4, 2023.

“I’m honoured to have been given this opportunity to serve as Mayor of Bude-Stratton,” said Cllr Dawe. “I believe that the key to success is open communication and collaboration. I look forward to working closely with my fellow Councillors, staff, and residents to ensure that our voices are heard in a meaningful and respectful way.”

The Armed Force Covenant was signed at the annual meeting, a significant gesture of respect and gratitude towards the sacrifices made by the armed forces and their commitment to supporting this community.
