Students across the country will have anxiously made their way to school this morning, hoping that their hard work paid off. For students at Budehaven Community School it was a morning of celebration as envelopes were opened and pupils greeted with an array of high scores.
School staff have expressed their pride in students following their efforts in examinations which were held in May and June earlier this year.
Mr Wilkes, headteacher at the school said: “We are very proud of our Year 11 students who have received their GCSE results today, following their examinations that took place in May and June this year.
“We are excited to be welcoming many students back in September as they join our Sixth Form, along with several external applicants who have decided to join us.”
While nationally results have dipped slightly compared to last year, celebrations were still rife in Bude this morning, with staff and students delighted with results.
Mr Wilkes continued: “We are delighted with the outcomes our young people have achieved individually and together, as a year team. We wish our young people well in all they do, and look forward to welcoming many of them back in September in our Sixth Form.
“Thank you to all the staff who supported GCSE results day today; their support made today really successful. “
With a few weeks left of the summer holidays, students will be making the most of it before moving onto the next step in their educational journey, be it A-Levels, BTECs or apprenticeships.
