A VITAL community organisation was presented with a generous donation recently, following a caring cream tea which raised funds for the cause.
Along with several residents, committee members of Woburn Resident’s Association paid a visit to the Gateway Centre in Madford House in Launceston to make a presentation of £300.
The money was raised at a cream tea held on Woburn Green on a sunny Sunday afternoon. The event was well attended and thanks go to all those who were there which enabled us to make a profit to hand over to the Gateway Centre. Those attending the presentation were very impressed by the variety of services offered and enjoyed a lovely coffee in the café.
The centre, which recently faced the prospect of closure, offers the community general support in mental health and physical wellbeing having their own gym on site. There are meeting rooms available to hire and the premises benefits from disabled access.
A spokesperson from Woburn Resident’s Association said: “All in all we were surprised at the level of support given to all sections of the local community and we wish them well in their endeavours.”
