AN EVENT at the Bullers Arms in Marhamchurch is due to provide local people with relevant knowledge and training on how to use a defibrillator, possibly helping to save lives.

Many people would not know what to do in the event of someone suffering from a cardiac arrest in front of them.

Knowing CPR and where the nearest defibrillator is, as well as being able to use it, is vital, and could be the difference as to whether someone survives or not.

With a cardiac arrest, time is so important.

A night has been arranged at the Bullers Arms, explaining where all the defibrillators are in the community, and showing those present how to use them, as well as how to do CPR properly.

This event will be led by qualified paramedics, and will be held on Monday, April 3 at 7pm.

Defibrillators in the Bude area include the Preston Gate Inn, Poughill; the Lords Shop, Stratton; Habasca Hotel, Flexbury; the Golf Club; Landsdown Dairy; the town council offices; Esso Station; Morrisons; the MOT garage, Kilkhampton; and the telephone box in Marhamchurch.
