OKEHAMPTON Medical Centre has warned patients of potential disruption in the coming weeks.
The site has released an ‘advance warning’ to patients as it prepares to move to a new computer system, expressing that there may be ‘disruption to normal service’ from April 29, until May 13.
In a statement to patients, a spokesperson for the medical centre explained: “We are in the process of moving over to a new computer clinical system that we use for all your medical records, appointments, and prescriptions.”
The centre explained that the updated system is ‘more efficient and modern’, hoping to provide a better service.
A spokesperson continued: “We are preparing for this to ensure a smooth transition and to minimise disruption to the care we provide you.”
The centre has noted that online services, such as repeat prescription requests, viewing medical records, and booking blood tests using Patient Access or the NHS app will be unavailable from April 29 until the new system goes live in May. Instead, the centre is contactable via Klinik, phone or in person to access services.
A spokesperson added: “We would like to ask everyone for their support and patience, and we hope that you can bear with us whilst we become accustomed to the new system.”
