They each finished with a Cornish pasty, a cream tea and a lovely bottle of Cornish cider.
Camelford Up and Running tea member Matt Allan said: “Myself, my Sam, Emma, Holly and Jon set off at 11 am for this 18 miler.
We were expertly supported for 2 miles by Beth, Paul, and Claire.
“Jon’s Sam joined us for the first mile. Thank you all so much for joining us .”
Before they started, all enjoyed a Cornish Fairings Biscuit then headed to Slaughters Bridge.
They continued to Otterham Station then hit the back roads towards the Devon border via Trelash and Canworthy Water.
Matt added: “When dropping a car to the finish line, earlier in the day, we strategically hid a box of Cornish Fudge at Caudworthy Bridge which is at the bottom of a long hill.
“This treat turned out to be a very welcome suger hit just when we needed it!
“‘Thanks’ to an engraved Curbstone on the bridge. It turns out the bridge was built by Devon County Council in 1931. This caused a little ruckus within our group but we decided the bridge must’ve been in Devon back then, but since, the border had moved .”
They continued to The Stumble Inn, near Whitstone, stopping for a quick drink before continuing to the Devon/Cornwall border, just below North Tamarton.
Matt added: “We enjoyed our Cornish pasty, cream tea and bottle of Cornishcider, then got a lift back in Jon’s car. A great effort by all and a fine achievement to.”
