On Saturday, May 25, a Bude group marked World Animal Free Research Day by turning the town turquoise.
In total 21 businesses took part and the group also set up a stall in the town.
Community ambassador Steph Jones-Giles said: "It was a busy day in town with the rain holding off until later in the afternoon. We had a terrific turn out and there was a glorious sea of turquoise across Bude and beyond. I am so very grateful to all who took part."
Earlier in the week the group held a children's colouring competition in conjunction with Banfords, Bude Animal Friends and Kim Gouldson who donated prizes.
The winner was Lily-Ocean Barlow, age four, from Early Birds Nursery who was delighted to have also won a gardening hamper for the nursery.
Runners up were Marco Rei Heard age three from St Petrocs Nursery and Flora May Clark age four from Westlands Nursery. The colouring was of such a high standard that Banfords donated sticker pad prizes for all entries.
Steph added: "We will be counting up collection tins next week and every penny takes us closer to our next target of £60,000.”
