THE hard work of the St Teath Christmas lighting team paid off as crowds enjoyed the light switch on.

A dazzling array of coloured lights greeted residents and visitors alike as Christmas 2023 came to life in the village.

The evening was full of festive cheer and Christmas spirits. Father Christmas was kept busy through the evening with long queues forming to pay him a visit.

Patrick Mewton had many visits to his fantastic displays in his garden and said: “It’s just nice to put something back in the community and to see a big smile on peoples faces. To me, that’s the true spirit of Christmas”.

This year, the honour of switching on the village lights was given to long standing residents, David and Lorraine Jasper.

Lorraine said that it was ‘an absolute delight to be given this opportunity to light our village for 2023’ and thanked the lighting committee for all their work and dedication in making the event such a success.
