A Rotary Club in West Devon has shown its support for a local youth club with a big donation.

Last week, members of Holsworthy Rotary attended the town’s youth club to meet some of the young people benefitting from the group’s work and provide a special gift to those at the club.

During their visit, members presented a cheque for £1,000 to help support the group’s activities.

President of Holsworthy Rotary, Robert Cole said: “As a club, we’re keen to support activities that help our community here in Holsworthy, and particularly to help our young people.  We’re very impressed with the youth club, and delighted to be able to contribute.”

Following the generous donation, the club has thanked the Rotary for their support of the club, stating that the funds will help maintain the group’s offering for young people in the area and hopefully allow them to develop their work.

Caroline Down, the youth worker at Holsworthy Youth Club explained: “We’re very grateful for Rotary’s generous donation, which will help immensely in maintaining and developing what we can offer young people in Holsworthy.  We’ve got some exciting things coming, so watch this space!”
