IT was a joyous occasion at St Mary's Church in Week St Mary on Sunday, June 9, for the induction of Reverend David Saunders to the Bude Coast and Country Benefice as oversight minister.

As well as Rev Saunders' family attending there were friends from Ascot, local dignitaries, members from the churches in this benefice and lots of people from the local communities.

Also in attendance: Rev Theresa Folland, Rev Michael Parsons, Rev Jane Bradbury, Rt Rev Hugh Nelson Bishop of St Germans, Lay Canon Mrs Micheline Smith (Lay chair to the Deanery), Rev Heather Aston, Rev Robin Dickenson Interim Rural Dean, Rev Kelly Betteridge Archdeacon of Bodmin, Susan Dickenson Lay Leader, Rev Douglas Adams and reader Mrs Carol Goundry.
