Appliances from Bodmin, Wadebridge and Delabole were mobilised to a fire in a pub kitchen at Market Place, Camelford yesterday (July 19) at around 5.18pm.

A Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "The fire began in a chip pan and spread to the kitchen, firefighters used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, one dry powder extinguisher and a thermal image camera to extinguish the fire.

"Once the fire had been extinguished crews isolated gas and electricity supplies and removed the chip pan involved from the kitchen. Firefighters used small tools and thermal imaging camera to cut away to ensure that the fire had not spread.

"One casualty was treated on scene for smoke inhalation by ambulance staff. There are no more details available on this incident."
