A BUSINESS which has become a staple of the Launceston community has celebrated its second decade of success in the town.
With September behind us, many saw October 1 as a wave goodbye to summer, however, for Banbury's Beauty Spa, it was a special occasion, marking its 20th year of business.
Staff and clients of the salon, which is based on Madford Lane in Launceston, have been beaming with excitement as the site celebrated the massive milestone.
Speaking about the achievement, Claire Banbury, founder of Banbury's Beauty Spa, said: “Today is a very special day for us as we are celebrating 20 years in business. I started in October 2004 where I had a single treatment room above a very prestigious hair salon, Craig Chapman Hair Design in Launceston Cornwall who I am truly grateful to.”
The business started from humble beginnings, with Claire doing as much as she could to get the spa off the ground, providing only a single treatment each day. However, since then, thanks to a lot of hard work, the salon has grown tremendously.
Claire continued: “I started with only one treatment per day. Over the years I have built up a very loyal clientele which led the business to grow where we have up to 20 therapists and 10 or more therapists working every day at the salon. I would like to thank my past and present team, my mum and everyone behind the scenes who have been on this journey with me who work very hard every day to make Banbury’s the success it is today.
“We are truly grateful for our loyal clients and the support we have had over the past two decades. We look forward to celebrating this milestone with you all.”
With time flying by, October 1, 2024, marked 20 years since those beginnings. Now business is better than ever, continuing to grow and thrive despite a number of challenges, including a cost-of-living crisis, a change in spending habits and not to mention a global pandemic!
Of course, pushing through these challenges and making it this far, building a loyal clientele and community relationships called for a celebration.
On the big day, mayor of Launceston, Cllr Helen Bailey paid a visit to staff at the salon to congratulate Claire and the team on the milestone. As well as this, the business was decorated and ready for a party, complete with balloons and cakes.
Claire continued: “We are now 20 years on! Where has that time gone? What a journey it has been! We cannot thank you all enough for your loyalty and support, which has made Banbury's the success it is today.
"I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for choosing Banbury's Beauty Spa.”
