LAUNCESTON Community Fire Station squared off against Callington Community Fire Station this weekend to show their skills in a football friendly.
On Sunday, February 4, the two stations came together at Launceston’s 3G football pitch to kick off a battle for the ages.
Ahead of the clash, a spokesperson from Launceston Community Fire Station (LCFS) said: “One team has been taking it very seriously with lots of team talks and behind the scene training. The other team is Launceston.
“Come and cheer on your local fire station. May the best station win.”
After a hard-fought battle, the full-time score was 8 – 2, with visitors seeing Launceston lift the trophy.
Following the event, an LCFS spokesperson said: “Huge well done to Callington Community Fire Station, they showed up, played very well and made Launceston Community Fire Station work hard.
“But...there can only be one winner and that had to be 7.4.”
With scores to settle, it has also been announced that a return leg will be played in the near future, and Callington have got something to prove.
