LAUNCESTON was transported back to 2012 this morning, as it was visited by an old friend — the London Olympic torch.

The torch from London’s iconic 2012 Olympics paid a return visit to Launceston Town Square today, as town councillor Davey Green joined Frank Wainwright on his 38th consecutive day of running Ultra Marathons.

Frank is taking on 60 ultra marathons as part of ‘Frank's Big T.O.E’ (Tour of England), in aid of The Brathay Trust.

On his journey today, he passed through the town square, meeting mayor Cllr Helen Bailey with Cllr Green, who carried the torch in Southampton on its tour 12 years ago.

Supporting young people from challenging backgrounds, The Brathay Trust offers them the chance to build and shape the world around them for the better.

So far on his journey, Frank has raised more than £16,000.
