RESIDENTS and students in Launceston celebrated all things Cornish today as part of their St Piran’s Day parade.
The annual celebration of Cornwall’s patron saint saw schools from across Launceston come together to mark the occasion.
Hundreds of students gathered in the town square, providing song and dance for many happy onlookers.
As Town Crier, Cllr Rob Tremain led the students through the morning, the event was kicked off with a rousing rendition of ‘The Hidden Parts of Cornwall’, before children performed a specially choreographed ‘Lanson Dance’ through the streets.
From there, students sang their hearts out as they performed ‘Cornwall My Home’ and ‘Trelawny’ before dancing ‘Mr Martin’s Reel’.
The event was rounded off with students making their voices heard with a nice loud ‘Kernow bys vyken’!
