HEAVENLY voices rang out at Kernow House as the community came together to celebrate Christmas with a carol concert.

Staff, residents and relatives at Kernow House care home, in Launceston got in the Christmas spirit by inviting special guests from the community to come and join in with a carol concert and sing some festive Christmas favourites. The singing was led by Ruth Dymond and the service by Revd. Mary Williamson. Bill Roberts, Revd. Mary Williamson and Ruth Dymond are among the volunteers who support residents at Kernow House with their spiritual needs throughout the year and it was lovely being able to share this time with them. Cllr Deputy Mayor Nicola Gilbert was a specially invited guest and she came along with Cllr Margaret Young.

There was mulled wine and minced pies prepared by head chef, Rachel Bateman to get everyone feeling festive after the service.

General manager, Leigh Stanley said: “We are so lucky to have such a fantastic community here at Kernow House. Singing Christmas carols is such a lovely tradition, I’m so glad we could invite our friends and relatives to come and join us.”

Mary, a resident at Kernow House said: “I love to sing Christmas carols so it was wonderful to hear all my old favourites sung so beautifully by Ruth and everyone who joined in. There really is nothing better than sharing a good time together!”
