A MOTORCYCLIST has been taken to hospital with potentially serious injuries following a collision on the A388.

Police were called at 11.15am today, Friday, October 4, to reports of a single vehicle collision on the A388 at St Giles on the Heath.

Following the incident, a male motorcyclist has sustained potentially serious leg and arm injuries and has been taken to Derriford Hospital by the ambulance service. An air ambulance was also in attendance.

The road is closed in both directions and motorists are being encouraged to avoid the area.
