PLANS are being discussed to secure the long-term future of the post office in Wadebridge.
The previous post office, located in the now-closed Spar shop on the Platt in the town, closed in June 2023 after plans to relocate it to a shop in the adjacent village of Egloshayle collapsed.
It comes amid increasing closures of banks across Cornwall affects the town’s access to cash.
A spokesperson for Wadebridge Post Office said: “Thanks for all the lovely support for our Post Office here in Wadebridge, sorry if you find it a cramped at times.
“We are actively talking to Post Office head office to find a long-term solution for Wadebridge, please be patient with us.
“We are working hard behind the scenes to ensure that we have a long-term plan for the future.”
Scott Mann, the MP for North Cornwall, said he was supporting those operating the temporary Post Office with their aims.
He said: “I’m very pleased with the way things are going at Wadebridge Post Office, the staff are extremely friendly and it’s clear from the footfall that the town is using the service. I will continue to back Jason and the team; they have my full support.”
