Police investigating a report of a kidnap in the Bude area are appealing for information.

As part of their ongoing enquiries, detectives are keen to hear from anyone who was travelling on the A39 near Stratton, Bude at around 10am on Wednesday, December 13.

There was a collision reported around this time, involving a black Audi, which is linked to the investigation.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "We’re keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or the manner of driving prior to the incident.

"Following the collision, a woman was located nearby with minor injuries.

"A man in his 30s from Bude has since been arrested on suspicion of kidnap and remains in police custody.

"Officers would like to speak to anyone witnesses including anyone with dashcam footage.

"Please report any relevant information to police by calling 101 or via our website quoting log 233 of December 13."
