PRIME Minister Boris Johnson has tested positive for coronavirus and is currently experiencing ’mild symptoms’, he has said.

The news has just come in after Mr Johnson posted a video update from No 10 to his Twitter page, stating he has been experiencing ’mild symptoms’ over the last 24 hours, including a high temperature and a persistent cough, and has been tested positive for the virus.

Mr Johnson has said he is now self-isolating, but ’will continue to lead the government’s response via video conference as we fight this virus’.

The Prime Minister also gave mention to the ’moving’ moment we all experienced last night when people across the country gave a round of applause to the NHS workers currently doing all they can to fight the virus and keep the UK population safe and well. He continued to thank all public sector workers, volunteers and people staying home in order to prevent the spread of the virus, for all they are doing in what is ’a great national effort’ to stop Coronavirus.
