THE PRICE to park at the majority of Bude’s Cornwall Council car parks has risen substantially, with the beginning of April indicating the start of the summer – at least in the eyes of the local authority.
It will now cost £2.30 to park for an hour at several car parks, with parking charges implemented from 9am until midnight at Summerleaze, Crescent, Crooklets and Widemouth Bay car parks. An evening session, charged between 6pm and midnight will cost £2.10.
There is, however, different charges at three other car parks in the area. At Wharf car park, the winter charges, which sees an hourly parking rate of £1.10, will remain the same all-year-round.
Meanwhile at Post Office car park, 30-minute parking will continue to remain available at a price of 60p in addition to the same charges as Wharf, with both car parks implementing their charging system between 9am and 4pm, seven days a week.
The increased seasonal parking charges at the four car parks where it costs £2.30 an hour will return to a reduced fee for the winter season on November 1, with an hourly charge of £1.10 set to be implemented once again — operational between 9am until 4pm with free parking offered outside of those hours.
However, there is also a resident’s season ticket available to buy from Cornwall Council, costing £273 for the year.
