THEIR Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall, HRH Prince Charles and Camilla, visited Bude town and Stratton Hospital on Monday (July 15) writes Natalie Venning.
They arrived at Belle Vue midmorning, with a sea of expectant faces waiting for the royal couple in the warming sun.
The dulcet tones of the Bencoolen Wreckers washed up the streets as they visited shops on their walk through the town.
From fudge to surf clothing and coffee houses to gift shops, the Duke and Duchess escaped the burning sun into the vast array of stores in Bude.
Glen Boyce, of Saltrock, had been told at the last minute of the visit when security came to check his shop. Happily he shook hands with them and chatted about the glorious weather.
