TEACHERS and staff at St Germans School are delighted that the children have recently had the opportunity to develop their creativity further.
Thanks to the fundraising efforts of the local community through the Eliot Arms and St Germans Shop, the school once again has a functioning pottery kiln. An initiative led by former Assistant headteacher Mrs Christina Oldfield has enabled the repair of the school’s kiln. As a result, the children have really enjoyed the experience of using clay to create their own designs.
Led by Mrs Oldfield, the initial project in Avocets class was the production of a set of tile panels which depict the school grounds through the seasons. Other classes have made items relating to their class topics.
A school spokesperson said: “Our thanks go to everyone who has enabled this project to happen”.
