STUDENTS from St Joseph’s School in Launceston have been congratulated following the success of their GCSE results.
A spokesperson from the school said: “Congratulations to the class of 2024 for their excellent set of GCSE results, building on the school’s admirable reputation for pupils of all abilities achieving highly. Although we know that a St Joseph’s education is about so much more than just exam results, we are delighted to celebrate such success in the summer of 2024.”
The school has expressed its pride at everything that the 2024 cohort have achieved this year in their summer GCSE exams, with 91 per cent of exams passed at grades 4 to 9, and a hugely impressive 23 per cent passed at the top grades of 8 to 9. With 40 per cent passed at grades 7 to 9, this is an amazing achievement for all those at the school.
The spokesperson continued: “Across the ability range, pupils gained results of which they are rightly very proud, and showed the real value of a St Joseph’s education. They have benefitted from the pastoral care and being part of the St Joseph’s family, one that ensures they have every opportunity to make the very most of everything that comes their way. As with academic results, so with every aspect of life at school.
“At St Joseph’s excellent pastoral care and personal attention to the needs of individual learners of all abilities are central to our daily life, and it is about children becoming the best versions of themselves that they can while in our care, and as a proudly non-selective school we know that results for every child have importance beyond any headline figures.”
Headteacher, Mr Oliver Scott said: “These results show what an impressive group of young people we have in our 2024 cohort, and that children of every ability level can make the most of the opportunities that come their way here at St Joseph’s. I am proud of very single one of those pupils who took their GCSEs this year, and have every confidence that they will go on to great things in the future. They have laid the foundations for future success, and although it is young people who they have grown to be that will always mean more than any exam results, their academic success really is the icing on the cake. Well done to each and every one of them.”
