Students at St Stephen’s Community Academy, Launceston have been learning all about the coronation this week, rounded off with celebrations and fun.
Pupils donned their red, white and blue outfits ready to get involved in a variety of activities.
Maura Furber, headteacher of the school said: “Thanks to our amazing PTFA, all the children have taken part in a Royal sponsored obstacle course and were each awarded a special crown, flag, commemorative medal and special pack of wildflower seeds to sow to remember this special historical event.
“At lunchtime the whole school had a Coronation buffet and at the end of the day our families and friends joined us for refreshments, scones and a whole school performance of “I just can’t wait to be King!” We do think this would be a perfect addition in the ceremony.
“A special well done to our Year 6 pupils who performed a piece of music they composed themselves and for accompanying the school singing on the Taiko drums. In the words of the children “God Save the King”.”
