LAUNCESTON has been transformed into a gallery, highlighting some of the area’s best artists.
Each year, windows around the town are decorated with the art of local creatives as part of Launceston Arts Weekender.
The event, which began back in 2019 as part of the Causley Festival, invites artists and writers to come together for a series of events within the town.
While the main event is planned for September 6, 7 and 8, until then, Launceston’s shopping streets have been transformed into a temporary art gallery, with paintings placed in shop windows around the town for four weeks.
The aim is for the public to be able to view the exhibition through shop windows and support local artists.
All paintings on display have been created locally and highlight the array of talent on offer within the area.
One of the event's organisers explained: “All the paintings will be by local artists and will be of a high standard, representing the quality and variety of work which is being produced in the local area.
“All paintings have a small card that tells the public details of the painting, the artist and the price of the work.”
