YEAR 7 girls from schools in Cornwall and Devon will participate in an exciting cybersecurity event hosted by an organisation dedicated to promoting careers in technology, engineering and creativity to women and girls.
The CyberSec Jam event, hosted by TECGirls, will take place tomorrow at Truro & Penwith College. Confirmed participants include students from Truro, St Austell, Helston and Holsworthy.
The event seeks to increase girls’ skills in coding and logic, cybersecurity, networks and cryptography via a number of workshops and talks.
The hope is they will enter a team into the CyberFirst Girls competition, a national programme available to Year 8 pupils, in November 2024.
