A WEST Devon football club celebrated its 35th anniversary recently.  

Holsworthy Youth Football Club hosted a very special end of season presentation day and celebrated more than three decades of footballing fun.

A spokesperson for the group said: “A huge thank you to everyone who attended our end of season presentation/fun day on Saturday (June 22). We hope you enjoyed it. We hosted 15 teams and their families throughout the course of the afternoon and it was amazing to be able to get all the teams together at the same time for a photo.  

“Not only did we celebrate our players achievements over the past season, but it is also the club’s 35th birthday. We were honoured to have Josie Axford and Phil Chidley in attendance, both of whom were instrumental in the creation of the club.  

“The day was finished off with a thank you party for our volunteers and sponsors.”  

With the season wrapped up and player achievements celebrated, the occasion gave the opportunity to have a party marking the occasion and end of the season.  

The club thanked all those involved in making the day a special one.
