Bond Timber Cornwall Cricket League Division Two East preview – Saturday, June 15

BUDE welcome Lanhydrock to Crooklets tomorrow in Division Two East looking to build on recent victories over Tintagel and Ladock.

The Seasiders have been good at home and boast the in-form bowler in the league in Aussie left-arm seamer Brett Hunter.

Tomorrow sees skipper Warren Rumble have to shuffle around his charges due to several unavailabilities.

All-rounder Matt Williams is on holiday while Antony Buchanan has gone to Italy for the rest of the summer, and Harry Dymond is unavailable, as are father and son, Mark and Matt Whitefield.

Jack Miles retains his place opening the batting where he is joined by the returning Wayne Adams.

Second team wicket-keeper/top order batsman Lee Houghton gets a chance, while Troy Buckingham and Connor Vanstone make up the rest of the team.

BUDE v Lanhydrock: Wayne Adams, Jack Miles, Warren Rumble (capt, wkt), Lee Houghton, James Sharman, Andrew De Rosa, James Turner, Matt Mansbridge, Brett Hunter, Troy Buckingham, Connor Vanstone.

HOLSWORTHY entertain Ladock at Stanhope Park looking to bounce back from successive losses.

Against both St Minver and South Petherwin they found themselves in promising positions, but a middle and lower order collapse against spin has proved costly.

They welcome back batsmen Brendan Harris and Sam Stacey plus seamer Rob Mitchell, but skipper Ryan Walter is away, while Ben Hutchings and Scott Bingham also drop out.

HOLSWORTHY v Ladock: Jack May, Jack Greening (capt), Aiden Gerry, Herschelle Poggenpoel, Chris Pomeroy (wkt), Sam Stacey, Brendan Harris, Dan Smith, Rob Mitchell, Nick Ward, Graham Wild.

TINTAGEL visit Callington with their strongest team of the season on paper, but will start as underdogs at Moores Park.

The Knights welcome back batsmen Tom Parsons and Geoff Uglow, while spinner Matt Pethick is also back.

Gyles Reynolds is missing, but skipper Matt Jolliffe will fancy their chances of an upset.

Callington name the same side that eased past Lanhydrock by 144 runs last Saturday with the exception of Liam Hunn, who is rewarded for his fine form with the bat in the second team.

He comes in for batsman Peter Tancock, but it remains to be seen whether he’ll open like has been, or slot into the middle order.

CALLINGTON SECONDS v Tintagel: Alex Robinson, Richard Brown, Nick Parker, Blake Tancock (wkt), Liam Hunn, Charlie Coates, Chris Simpson, Jim Shorten, Ben Alford, Joe Coates, Ryan Hodge.

TINTAGEL at Callington Seconds: Akobe Earle, Matt Jolliffe (capt), Jordan Burnard, Tom Parsons, Geoff Uglow, Jordan Blanchard, Adrian Pooley, Sam Abbott (wkt), Matt Pethick, Simon Fry, James Ellis.

SOUTH Petherwin welcome leaders St Austell Seconds to Kennards House looking to produce an almighty shock.

They did beat Holsworthy by 32 runs last Saturday, but the Saints are in fine form as they head up the A30.

Petherwin are without last week’s hero and captain Jacob Masters, who is at a wedding, and key man Sam Pengelly who misses a second game in succession.

Batsman Adrian Warne is also out, although there is a debut for Lewdown all-rounder Adam Creasey.

James Cawsey and Billy Martin are recalled from the seconds having made fifties at Bugle last Saturday.

SOUTH PETHERWIN v St Austell Seconds: Michael Bolt, James Cawsey, Paul Clements (capt), Andrew Brenton, Adam Creasey, Billy Martin, Tarran Davey, Adrian Clements, Kevin Horrell, Ben Crocombe (wkt).

In-form Werrington Seconds, who are fourth with games in-hand welcome St Blazey to Ladycross.

Former Tintagel all-rounder Ryan Pooley has been dropped down from the second team to find some form, and will form a strong batting line-up with Tom Lyle and Rob May.

Ian Searle retains his place after his 5-21 against Menheniot-Looe, while Zander Zambuni also returns.

WERRINGTON SECONDS v St Blazey: Marley May, Rob May, Ryan Pooley, Tom Lyle, Simon Bishop (wkt), Zander Zambuni, Mark Hodgson, Jason Seldon (capt), Ian Worsnip, Ian Searle, Nick Oldaker.

The other game sees third-placed St Minver welcome second bottom Menheniot-Looe.
