BEN Sharpe got the all-important goal as Holsworthy Reserves moved eight points clear of the Premier Division bottom two with a 1-0 success over visiting Landkey Town.
The attacker got the all important touch to earn the Magpies a sixth league win of the season.
Basement side Hartland’s hopes of survival were boosted as second bottom Appledore Reserves conceded their trip down the A39.
Morwenstow ran out 3-1 winners at Merton to continue their promotion charge in the Senior Division.
Callum Rogers netted twice, including a first half stunner, while sub Corrick Davies was also on target.
Morwenstow, who have eight fixtures left, are five points behind third-placed Woolsery with a game in-hand after they were thrashed 7-1 at runaway leaders Braunton Reserves.
Fifth-placed Shebbear United had the weekend off.
Bradworthy continued their fine form in Intermediate One as they walloped Holsworthy Thirds 8-2.
The Horniwinks were looking to build on the momentum produced by their Devon Intermediate Cup semi-final victory over Witheridge Seconds a week earlier, and did exactly that as they raced into a 4-0 lead at the break.
Holsworthy, who were reduced to ten men, scored twice after the break through Harry Grigg, but couldn’t keep the back door shut.
Bradworthy netted through former Magpie Dom Abbott (4), Brad Birch, Dan Furse, Tudor Placinta and sub Carlo Chandler.
It was a bad day on the road for both Putford and Morwenstow Reserves.
Putford made the long trip up to Combe Martin Reserves and were beaten 2-1 despite sub Tom Gleeson netting, while Morwenstow lost 4-1 at Georgeham and Croyde Rovers.
Rio Colgrave got the Greens’ consolation after they trailed 3-0 at the break.
Hartland Reserves lost 2-1 at Braunton Thirds despite Jack Coleman’s first half opener.
Goals from Kaiden Windsor-Sanders and Steven Windsor ensured the points stayed at The Lobb.
