CAMELFORD boss Reg Hambly admitted his side need to ‘stand up and scrap for every point’ after slipping to a 1-0 defeat at Bude Town on Saturday.

The second Atlantic Derby of the season, which saw few chances, was decided by Aaron Hart’s superb early finish.

Hambly told the Post: “It was a disappointing result, particularly with it being our first game for a month.

“To concede ten minutes in was a bit of a blow and it proved decisive.

“It was hard-fought game played out in midfield with not a lot of action played out in either box, but try as we might we couldn’t find the opening we needed.

“But all credit to Bude who worked their socks off and didn’t afford us any space.”

The Camels sit four points above the two sides below them – Millbrook and Launceston – and Hambly wants them to battle – starting with Saturday’s trip to mid-table Sticker.

He continued: “We’ve got a lot of tough games coming up so we’ve got to stand up and scrap for every point with the position we’re in.

“We’ve got a big game now on Saturday at Sticker. They’ve done very well lately and when we played them at home in late November and although we played okay on the day, they won it via a late brace from Haiden Chapman.

“We need to make sure we can keep an eye on him, start to create a few more chances and hopefully take them.”
