HOLSWORTHY won the Cornwall Cricket League Division Two T20 Cup for the first time on Sunday at Redruth.
The Trees hadn’t entered the competition before, but having navigated past Bude and South Petherwin and then Werrington Seconds in the last eight, they faced champions Perranporth in the first semi-final.
After Helston Seconds beat Wadebridge in a heavily-affected first semi-final, the clash got underway as a 19 overs per side contest.
Holsworthy made a competitive 110-5 before dismissing the Reen Manor Parc club for just 67, a remarkable turnaround considering they were 37-0 in the fifth over.
Herschelle Poggenpoel took 6-9 in a remarkable spell of left-arm spin bowling.
The final against Helston saw the Trees dominate throughout.
The Blues eventually got up to 100 all out, but Poggenpoel led them home with an unbeaten 62.
