BUDE are forced into one change from Saturday’s defeat to Kingsbridge for tomorrow’s visit from league leaders Paignton (2.30pm).

The Cherry and Whites make the long trip over to North Cornwall with a ten-point lead at the top of the Counties One Western West table from Plymstock Albion Oaks who Bude visit on January 4.

Bude were denied an impressive victory last weekend at High House as Kingsbridge fought back from 15-12 down to win 24-15 due to two late tries.

It meant the Seasiders didn’t even get a bonus point for a fine display.

But Paignton are the league’s form side having won 10 of their 12 outings with a draw and just one defeat to boot.

The Devonians’ blemishes so far were a 50-26 defeat at Barnstaple Seconds and a 29-29 draw at St Ives.

The earlier meeting in the season saw Paignton run out 42-26 winners at Queen’s Park.

Bude joint head coaches Simon Jeffery and Joe Wilson make just alteration from last weekend as centre Ben Tharme comes in for the unavailable Will Pharo at 13.

There are two alterations on the bench as flanker Harvey Cholwill and experienced scrum-half Olly Mounce replace for Fraser Martyn and Gareth Hutchings.

Looking ahead to the fixture, Simon Jeffery told the Post: “We’re looking for a big performance against a strong team on Saturday to finish off the year on a high before the Christmas break!”

Bude Seconds are also in action as they visit Penryn Seconds in a rearranged clash in Counties Three Cornwall.

Other fixtures: Barnstaple Seconds v Wiveliscombe, Bideford v Tavistock, Penryn v Kingsbridge, Pirates Amateurs v St Ives, Redruth Seconds v Plymstock Albion Oaks.
