WERRINGTON make just one change from last weekend’s seven-wicket victory over Truro for tomorrow’s crunch clash at St Just (1pm).
The Tron make the trip to the far edge of Cornwall knowing that a victory could go a long way to extending their record in the top-flight, while at the same time put St Just right in danger.
But a victory for Gareth May’s side will likely see them end the day ahead of Werrington who have a 21-point gap over bottom side Camborne.
Werrington travel without opening batsman John Moon once more due to work, but former skipper Ben Smeeth is available again after working last weekend.
Smeeth replaces youngster George Rickard who drops down to the seconds for a bat and a bowl.
Last weekend saw skipper Nick Lawson re-visit his opening days, and he will have to decide whether to stick with that method again or let Smeeth, who has been out of form with bat, take his spot.
WERRINGTON at St Just: Sam Hockin, Nick Lawson (capt, wkt), Adam Hodgson, Thulina Dilshan, Mark Gribble, Ben Smeeth, Ryan Pooley, Ben Jenkin, Dan Barnard, Mark Taskis, Jordan Duke.
THE destination of the Division Two East title is in St Austell Seconds’ hands after they beat their Werrington counterparts by 32 runs last weekend, so Werrington will hope for a favour from Bude.
Werrington welcome strugglers Ladock 19 points ahead but having played two games more, while the Saints are also in North Cornwall as they go to fourth-placed Bude.
Werrington skipper Jason Seldon makes two changes from the side beaten at Wheal Eliza.
All-rounder Mark Hodgson is replaced by the available-again Leo McDonnell in a like-for-like swap, while George Rickard comes in for Hugh Tomkinson who, like Hodgson, is not available.
WERRINGTON SECONDS v Ladock: Rob May, Dan Howgill, Marley May, Tom Lyle, George Rickard, Billy Uglow, Rob Dymond (wkt), Leo McDonnell, Jason Seldon (capt), Ian Searle, Nick Oldaker.
WERRINGTON Thirds are just above the dreaded bottom four with six games to go, and face the side directly below them tomorrow when they head to Boconnoc.
The Deer Park outfit had ten points deducted due to conceding a clash, but Werrington are 13 points ahead of them, albeit having played a game more.
Werrington captain Ian Wills has a near full-strength team to choose from, and is able to welcome back batsman Simon Bishop who has been dropped down to the thirds.
Werrington had a mixed time of it last weekend.
On Saturday they eased past bottom side Newquay Seconds by six wickets, but an understrength team were beaten by 58 runs at struggling Liskeard on Sunday.
WERRINGTON THIRDS at Boconnoc: Adam Paynter, Ed Walters (wkt), Paul Miller, Dan Warring, Zander Zambuni, Simon Bishop, Ian Wills (capt), Ian Worsnip, Dan Jenkin, Sam Smeeth, Tyler May.
The fourths are solidly in mid-table in Division Five East, but they will look to end a three-match losing streak either side of a washout when they entertain neighbours South Petherwin Seconds.
