A CHEQUE for £2,400 has been presented to MIKES Trust by Bodmin Rugby Football Club.
It comes after a number of fundraising events for the charity, which was set up upon the death of Michael Riddiough-Allen, who had played for the rugby club at the time of the incident.
The rugby club has been supporting the family of Michael Riddiough-Allen since the event, with former team mates playing an integral role in the inaugural events of the MIKES Trust, which was established with the aim of raising awareness of, and preventing knife crime.
A spokesperson for the MIKES Trust praised the fundraising by Bodmin RFC, which included James Morrisey and Neil Rousseau taking on ‘The Rat’, a gruelling 11 mile run.
Mr Riddiough-Allen died from knife wounds after an incident near the Eclipse nightclub on the night of April 30, 2023.
A court case, where three Bodmin residents are charged with multiple offences, including the murder of Michael Riddiough-Allen is currently ongoing at Truro Crown Court.
