A NEW pharmacy in Holsworthy has officially opened to the public and comes with a seal of mayoral approval.
It was opened by the mayor of Holsworthy, Cllr Nigel Kenneally in a ceremony attended with officials of the new Jhoots Pharmacy, located in the former Lloyds bank building near Holsworthy’s Town Centre, on Thursday, August 22.
It is the latest branch of the countrywide chain of pharmacies to open, offering a range of services in addition to the dispensation of medication.
The opening of the new pharmacy is welcome news to the town’s residents, who were impacted after the closure of Lloyds Pharmacy in January 2024, months after the group went into liquidation.
Most of the branches were taken over by other operators, with Jhoots taking over operation of the facility on a temporary basis at the same location while working out a longer-term plan for serving the town. A permanent pharmacist will join the team in September.
The mayor of Holsworthy, Cllr Kenneally said after opening the new pharmacy: ‘’I was honoured and delighted to be asked to officially open the new Jhoots pharmacy. I am very pleased we have a working pharmacy once again operating in Holsworthy town centre. I wish the team at Jhoots all the success for the future.’’
