A POPULAR Launceston pub is set to reopen its doors after a period of closure.
Back in October 2023, The White Horse Inn in Newport, was sold by longstanding owners St Austell Brewery, instead being purchased by Red Oak Taverns, an independent business which owns 246 pubs across the country.
Despite this, following its acquisition, the site’s landlords announced in March this year that they would be departing from the pub after having only been in the role for a year. This came after the pair were unable to agree an extension to their tenancy.
Since then, the pub has remained vacant. However, this week it was announced that The White Horse Inn would rise again!
Laura Pavey announced this week that the popular pub will be reopening its doors.
In the announcement, she said: “As lots of you will have seen, there’s been a lot of activity down at the pub in Newport. We’ve been working hard to get the pub ready to open up to you and we’re pleased to announce we’re opening tomorrow (Friday, August 23)!
“There are still some works being carried out to the kitchen, so there is not currently a food menu, but the beers are flowing and everyone is welcome, so please come and say hi.
“From all of us, The White Horse Inn team, we’re all looking forward to seeing you soon!”
