CAMELFORD boss Reg Hambly feels there is ‘no pressure on us’ as the Camels prepare for Saturday’s mouthwatering SWPL League Cup quarter-final clash at St Austell (3pm).

The Camels have seen off Premier East sides Torrington and Newton Abbot Spurs, both by 4-1 scorelines, to reach the last eight.

And while they played well to get through, they know they will need to be even better against a Lillywhites side that are battling Liskeard Athletic for the Premier West title.

The two sides have already met twice this season in the league with the Saints coming out on top on both occasions.

However, Hambly, who celebrated his 70th birthday last week, expects his side to rise to the occasion.

He said: “We’re really looking forward to the tie and know it’s going to be a huge challenge but it’s a  cup game and anything can happen on the day.

“They have scored 12 goals against two of the top teams in Cornwall recently, so we are well aware of the task ahead, we will need to be disciplined and keep our shape. 

“They start as hot favourites so no pressure on us and I feel we can cause them problems at the back. We have been scoring goals recently, have a bit of pace up top and hopefully can take any chances that come our way.

“Whatever happens the boys deserve to be in the quarter-finals and I’m sure will be a credit to the club.”

Camelford will be without influential midfielder Andy Boxall, while left-back Jake Chafer is doubtful.

Hambly added: “Andy Boxall is away this weekend and Jake Chafer’s 50/50, but apart from that everyone is available and looking forward to the game.”
