THE competitions continue to come in thick and fast, with the annual ladies versus men Millennium Salver played at the club on Sunday, July 14.
The weather was lovely, dry and warm, and the 10 ladies looking to lift the Salver for the first time in a number of years pulled it out of the hat, thrashing the men 3.5 to 1.5.
Well done to the ladies team which was Jackie Kirby (captain), Lynda Perkins, Barbara Abrams, Ely Walmsley, Gill Lark, Ali Roberts, Muriel Hayward, Pauline Bezzant, Teresa North-Lewis and Barbara Lake.
Earlier in the month, the ladies’ president, Lynda Perkins, held her annual President’s Days, with sections for the ladies and men.
A huge well done to ladies captain Jackie Kirby for lifting the President’s Shield for the ladies but not to be outdone, husband Ian Kirby won the men’s President’s Shield, keeping all the silverware in the family!
