LAUNCESTON have announced their side for their opening pool game in the new Papa Johns Community Cup at Lydney tomorrow (2pm).
The Cornishmen have been placed in Pool Three of the Regional One Shield where they will also take on Royal Wootton Bassett and Bracknell.
To progress to the semi-finals, they must top the group after the three games, which end with successive home games on April 15 and 22.
Launceston made the trip up to Lydney on March 4 in their most recent league meeting in Regional One South West and emerged 29-22 winners.
Lydney, who won at Polson Bridge earlier in the season and finished ahead of Launceston on points difference, have an excellent attack and beat champions Camborne earlier this month.
However a new competition should bring plenty of excitement for both sides.
From last weekend’s final league game at Drybrook, Launceston make two changes.
With prop Ethan Pearce-Cowley injured, the front row of Mitch Hawken, Levent Bulut and Andy Knight remains the same.
There’s a surprise in the second row as Leion Cole is dropped to the bench with skipper Lloyd Duke available again, which means Tom Bottoms joins the ever-improving Alex Bartlett at lock with Duke coming at openside flanker.
In the backs, James Slater starts at fly-half again alongside Tom Sandercock while the centres and wingers remain the same.
With James Tucker out for the rest of the season after a scheduled jaw operation, Glenn Coles comes in at full-back.
The bench is made up of Cole, Jake Crabb and Adam Collings.
